Children and Young Person’s Independent Sexual Violence Advisor & Group Work Facilitator

Marcia is an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA). She emotionally and practically supports survivors in a variety of ways from their initial reporting through the criminal justice process. Her client base includes all ages but she specialises with supporting Children and Young People.

Marcia has had 11+ years experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse as an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor. She co-founded the Isle of Man charity for survivors of domestic abuse Safe, Strong, Secure (3S). Marcia also co-founded and was Team Leader for the charity PrisonWorks Isle of Man. Recognizing that 85% of offenders are victims of abuse, Marcia worked with offenders, ex-offenders and those at risk of offending as well as their families and the community. She co-wrote a Restorative Justice programme, Inside Out, that she and a team of volunteers presented in the Isle of Man Prison for a number of years. In 2013, this programme was awarded the Robin Corbett Award for Prisoner Rehabilitation. Marcia was also awarded one of Theresa May’s Point of Light Awards in September 2017 for her work in the IOM Prison.
